Buffalo Temperature Analysis
This page is generated every 15 minutes using the
WeatherGraph
software, version 1.61, and
NOAA METAR data
(which is usually updated hourly).
The red line shows
the current temperature,
the green line shows
the current wind velocity, and
the blue line shows
the current wind chill temperature index (or heat index in summer).
Notes:
- NOAA METAR
data seems to occasionally "skip" an update, and on rare occasions
our Internet connection goes down or gets overloaded, so it's not
that unusual to see the same data for more than a one-hour period.
- The wind chill temperature index is calculated when the air
temperature is less than 50° F and the wind speed is greather
than 3 MPH. For more information on the formula, see
this NOAA web site.
- The Heat Index is calculated when the air temperature is equal to or
greater than 78° F. For more information on the formula, see
this web site.
(Note: There is also an NWS page
here,
which links to
a formula
that may or may not be the same as the one used by this program.)
