If you know of a boy in grades 1-5 who is interested in becoming a Cub Scout, please tell them about Roundup, which will be held on Monday, September 25th, at 7:00 PM in the Maple East Auditorium. The costs are $25 to cover registration and Boys' Life magazine, plus a $36 activity fee (both of which are refundable based on individual popcorn fundraising sales).
Our Fall Encampment will be at Old Fort Niagara on October 13-14, 2000! We will get there at around 7 PM, sleep overnight in one of the buildings, leave around 10 AM the next morning. While we're there, we will get to participate in some of the historical activities. The cost is $12 per person, and every Scout must be accompanied by an adult.
Pack 222 will be having an ice skating party at the Amherst Pepsi Center on Saturday, November 4, from 5:00 until 5:50 PM. Scouts skate for free, not including rental equipment. Families are welcome; the cost will be $2.00 for each additional person. Use of protective equipment (helmet, wrist guards) is encouraged. This should be a lot of fun!
The popcorn will be available for pickup on Saturday, November 18th, from 9 AM until noon, at 136 MacArthur Drive. Dens are encouraged to pick up their orders as a unit, if possible. The money will be due at the November 27th Pack meeting.
The Buffalo Zoo ZooMobile will be presenting "Animals of the Rainforest" at our December Pack meeting, which was rescheduled for December 19th.
January is Pinewood Derby month! This is one of the most exciting events of the year, and we hope that everyone is getting their cars ready. For the rules, times, and other information, go here.
Our January 29th Pack meeting will feature the Webelos ceremony and the Arrow of Light ceremony, two of the most important in the Cub Scout program. Please try to attend.

We will be having a sledding/tobogganing outing at Chestnut Ridge Park on Sunday, February 11, starting at 1:00 PM. It should be fun!
Our annual Blue & Gold Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 4th, at the Old Red Mill restaurant, 8326 Main Street, in Clarence, starting at noon. Every Scout will get a form in the mail to fill out and return. Scouts in our Pack will be free, adults will pay $9 each, and children other than the Scouts $6.50 each. The Breakfast will feature the Crossover ceremony, where our second-year Webelos graduate into Boy Scouting, and Dr. Birdd of Buffalo State College and the Buffalo Museum of Science, who will be giving a talk on flight and space. It should be fun! If you didn't get your form in the mail, you can find it here.
Our annual Scouting for Food drive is coming up, with bag dropoffs scheduled for the morning of March 31, and pickups on the morning of April 7. We consider this to be one of our most important activities, as it helps some very needy people and demonstrates one of the primary purposes of Scouting, helping others. Thanks to Chris Sabuda and Den 2 for coordinating this event.
Also on March 31, we will be having a Spring Outward Bound at the Penn Dixie Site in Hamburg, starting at 2:00 PM. Click here for a map to the site.
