Our first Pack meeting of the year will be on Monday, September 17th, at 7:00 in the Maple East Auditorium. Please bring your checks for the registration fees and the activity fees. We will be handing out various bits of information regarding the Pack year, and will be looking for help from the parents.
Roundup will be on September 24, at 7:00 PM in the Maple East Auditorium. Any boys, ages 6-10, who are interested in joining our Pack should attend. Parents should bring a pen to use for filling out forms, and their checkbook. Current members of our Pack should not attend.
September 24 is also the start of our yearly Popcorn sale. The kits will be given out during the September 17th Pack meeting and at Roundup.
We will be visiting the Corn Field Maze in Wheatfield on September 30th at 2:00 PM. Please join us at this interesting site!
Our annual Fall Encampment will be held on the U.S.S. Little Rock on October 5-6. The cost is $33 per person. Please bring checks to the first Pack meeting if you are interested.
Bill Sullivan will be holding a Pinewood Derby workshop on Monday, December 3 at 6:30 at Maple East. The purpose of the workshop is to give tips on how to build a car. The meeting is primarily directed at the new scouts and parents but anyone can come.
One of the highlights of our Scout year, the Pinewood Derby, is coming up! Weigh-in is Wednesday, January 9th, and the Derby itself is Friday, January 11th. The official Pack rules for this year's Derby can be found here.
Everyone should have gotten their invitations to the Blue & Gold Breakfast; please try to get them back to Darlene Carroll as soon as possible. Again, it includes a buffet-style breakfast (free for Scouts in our Pack), the Crossover Ceremony for our second-year Webelos Scouts, and Officer Dave Starke of the Amherst Police Canine Unit will be bringing Razor and LC, two of their police dogs. This will be a great program and the boys are going to love it.
Is everyone ready for the Blue & Gold Breakfast? Are you excited? You should be! We're going to have a great time at Sean Patrick's Emerald Isle, with great food, Boy Scout Troop 457 helping with the Webelos Crossover Ceremony, and a demonstration from the Amherst Police K-9 unit!
