Committee Meeting Notes for December 13, 2001
This meeting was held in Room 50 at Maple East at 7:00 PM, and ended at
around 8:15 PM. In attendance were:
- Paul Aufschlager
- Darlene Carroll
- Bill Grieshober
- Kevin Lanighan
- Marian Morales
- Kathi Sullivan
- Jean-Claude Thill
- Mike Townsend
- Dave Yearke
The following items were discussed:
- We talked about the popcorn fundraiser, and how little money,
above and beyond the activity fee, was actually raised. There
will be discussions next year about possibly changing the incentive
structure, raising the activity fee, or some other adjustments,
as our funds might end up a little tight this year.
- Bill Sullivan's Pinewood Derby seminar went very well, and was
well-received. Den Leaders are again reminded to make sure all
the boys in their Dens have cars.
- At the December 19th Pack meeting (rescheduled from December 17),
Kevin will conduct the Bobcat Ceremony, Chris Sabuda will collect
clothes for charity, Dens who want to do a show-and-tell or other
presentation can do so, and Jean-Claude will try to get a speaker
to talk about Camp Scouthaven.
- The January 28th Pack meeting will feature the Arrow of Light
Ceremony and the Buffalo Zoo ZooMobile.
- Den 2 will do the December flag ceremony, and Den 14 the January one.
- Darlene and the Blue & Gold Committee continue to make great
progress. This year's Breakfast will have a patriotic theme;
all Scouts should make placemats for their families, and all Dens
should make centerpieces.
- Marian is coordinating the FAME Park cleanup. Den 14 signed up
for January. Other Den Leaders should contact her to volunteer
other dates.
- Jean-Claude reported on Camp Scouthaven. Our Pack has reserved
a site for resident camp session 3 (Monday, July 15, to Thursday,
July 18). Anyone who is interested in attending should contact
either him or Gretchen.
- No big news on advancements, other than to be sure to give notice
to Marian a week before each Pack meeting.
- We have to make sure that all Pack leaders have registrations on
file with the Council. Kathi, Mary Anne Brick, and Dave will get
together to go over the rechartering process.
- The web pages are mostly up-to-date.
- Mike gave a rundown of our finances. We are basically in good
shape, but should give strong consideration to a spring fundraiser.
- Dave again solicited for a new Committee Chair.
- That's about it! Good Scouting, Happy Holidays, and a safe and
prosperous New Year!
